Yes, Roj Blake Was A Terrorist, Just Like Robin Hood. Blake's 7 remake in the works, ala Battlestar Galactica. I'm a little surprised they chose this to remake, as the show's protagonists are essentially a small group of terrorists hell-bent on revenge against an authoritarian, semi-fascistic state with heavy Orwellian overtones. I'd love to see a grim remake with characters up against impossible odds, the audience given enough time to grow attached to well written characters, then forced to watch them die in Blake's Ahab-like quest for blood. I'm not too concerned with spoiling anything for anyone, the series is as old as Star Wars, so excuse me while I give away some plot. The first season is mostly focused on the assembly of the rag-tag group of rebels, and showing how evil and corrupt the government/Federation is. The rest of the show is every character you've come to love dying one by one, martyred in the quest to do as much damage as possible to the Federation as they can, before they are eventually wiped out. It's hopeless, dark, rebellious, and an overlooked predecessor to a lot of popular sci-fi today. Firefly wasn't the first Old West-style Dirty Dozen in space TV series, Blake's 7 was. They have so much material use, so many directions/interpretations the could run with, the possibility to make another awesome show really exists here, all they have to do is not fuck up. I know they're only doing it because BSG is so damn popular (and good), there's the possibility to cash-in on a few well established fan bases, and rake some money even if it's a flop. I don't care, I hope the people they get to do it are talented and realize the potential of what they've been handed. BBC News Link | | Tuesday, April 15th, 2008 | | 5:43 pm |

It's My Birthday, Lock Up Your Mothers
I think Monday night, around 8:30 PM or so, I'll be heading out to The Black Forest Inn for a few pints on my birthday, if anyone's interested. If we're still around and having a good time after the bar's early 12:00 AM last call, we may mosey on to another bar or other activity. Woo. | | Friday, June 22nd, 2007 | | 4:43 am |
CthulhUSB
Here's a little project I've been working on. I'm going to cover/smooth the head, possibly remake it, this is the prototype of CthulhUSB, my six port USB hub that'll hang on the wall next to my desk. ( Pictures Behind The Cut )The tentacles with USB ports on them are flexible and fit just about anything in them. I haven't found anything that doesn't fit, yet. | | Tuesday, April 24th, 2007 | | 2:02 pm |
